Seated quick enough. Hostess seemed a little frazzled, busy time of year. Modern, updated decor. Clean and well lit. Lauren, server, was upbeat & friendly. Kitchen was having an issue with cornbread and biscuits. Spouse had country fried steak, corn & carrots. It was good. I had Four Veggie Plate with broccoli, carrots, green beans and hash brown casserole. Veggies were bright, fresh, hot and plain. Lauren brought the fresh biscuits and cornbread when we finished eating. She apologized for the delay and offered to pack them up to go. Nope, we had them for dessert.
It was the first time that I went to Cracker Barrel and I can tell the food is good. The side of the plates are big. The ambiance is more familiar and I like the concept about that the restaurant has a small shop.
One Sunday morning, the family and I went to this location in Gastonia, and this was my first time at this spot. Parking was a little troublesome, so I had to drop them off at the front door until a space opened up. Once inside, they were already seated, and I sat down where the waitress was already there for me to order. The decor was typical of any of the other cracker barrels, but I was very happy with the service that we received. I ordered the mama French toast with chicken sausage, eggs, and hashbrowns. My wife ordered the pecan pancakes, eggs, and bacon and my daughter just had pancakes. The food was really delicious and the waitress was very attentive to all of our needs. Pretty good experience here and would definitely go back.
This was how Cracker Barrel is supposed to be. Waitress brought out biscuits and corn muffins early and then they brought out more with our meal. Restaurant was clean, service was fast and food was hot and good. We will definitely stop here again when we're in the area.
